dreaded ned's gay bookshop

Because I have been on holidays for a few weeks, I didn't have much time for reading, but I did manage to buy a swag of books from my favourite gay bookshop in Sydney - The Bookshop at Darlinghurst, so I should have lots of new books to report on soon. However, I did find a new Thai gay guide for you to enjoy!

Thai Scene is one of a series of gay guides published by Gay Men's Press, covering most of the gay messes. The 1998 edition of Thai Scene was published late last year and is fairly up to date. While not as comprehensive as the Men of Thailand guide, it covers Bangkok, Cha-am/Hua Hin, Pattaya, Phuket, Chiang Mai and Isarn and is a handy pocket size. The descriptions of bars and places are very personal and fun to read, and it covers all the required do's and don'ts, making it an entertaining as well as useful guide for first time visitors. Disappointingly, the email address for dreaded ned's is wrong, but I suppose no guide is perfect!
